The PNM and the UNC have won the same number of seats in the 2019 Local Government Elections but the final results will represent more of a victory for the UNC than it will be for the PNM.
Prior to Monday's elections, the PNM held eight seats to the UNC's six, but the UNC captured the marginal seat of Sangre Grande to create a tie.
The UNC won: Sangre Grande, Siparia, Couva-Tabaquite-Talparo, Rio Claro-Mayaro, Chaguanas, Penal-Debe and Princes Town.
The PNM won Point Fortin, San Fernando, Arima, Port-of-Spain, Tunapuna-Piarco, San Juan-Laventille and Diego Martin.
