Marabella man to appear in court charged with murder

A 26-year-old Marabella man appeared before a San Fernando Magistrate today, charged with the murder of 43-year-old Damien Howe.

Jamal Butcher, 26, also known as ‘Brown’, of Bayshore, Marabella, appeared before Senior Magistrates’ Jo-Anne Connor, at the San Fernando First Magistrates Court charged with murder, following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore-Paul, on January 13th.

The matter was adjourned to February 10th.

According to police reports, Howe was at his Kitchener Street, Marabella home around 5:15 am on November 14th 2019, when two armed men entered and shot the victim several times about the body.

The assailants then escaped through the front door of the house. Investigations were supervised by Insp (Ag.) Daryl Corrie, Insp (Ag.) Allistair Jones and Sgt. Ramjag all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 3, while Butcher was charged by PC Rahim, also of HBI Region 3, on January 13th.
