Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has officially launched the Commissioner’s Cup Football Tournament, an initiative ained at fighting crime.
The tournament is a collaborative effort of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) through its Community Policing Unit, the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association and the Football Factory Foundation.
It kicks off in July 2019 and is designed to incorporate sport as an essential crime-fighting tool.
A report on Barbadian website, nationnews.com, has tipped Trinidad and Tobago football legend, Russell Latapy to be announced as head coach of the Barbados senior team later this week.
An announcement will be made this Wednesday at a media conference at the Barbados Football Association’s headquarters.
Latapy most recently took charge of the T&T under-20 team to the Concacaf championship in November last year.
That team had been inactive between the CAC Games in July and the Concacaf tournament in November due to unpaid salaries to Latapy and his staff.
