The Chair­man of the Pe­nal Debe Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion (PDRC), Dr Allen Sam­my, is tak­ing is­sue with com­ments made by Works and Trans­port Min­is­ter, Ro­han Sinanan, over the fail­ure of re­gion­al cor­po­ra­tions to fix the roads in their con­stituen­cies.

In a re­lease is­sued to­day, the PDRC Chair­man points to an in­ter­view the min­is­ter did with the Trinidad Guardian, which was pub­lished on Sun­day 9 Feb­ru­ary 2020.

Chairman of the Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation (CTTRC), Henry Awong, has confirmed that the Corporation is without a Principal Medical and Health Officer…

And he is urging the Local Government Minister to sort out the situation quickly, since the post is a very senior one.

Guardian Media spoke with Mr Awong on Friday morning as he was about to enter the CTTRC’s offices at Railway Road, Couva, who expressed concern that the post be filled as soon as possible, in light of the current global coronavirus threat.
