Wrong place at the wrong time

The family of Aaron 'Max' Broomes—one of the two men shot dead in Port-of-Spain on Wednesday—is today saying he was not involved in any criminal activities.

The 29-year-old father of two was shot dead with Kayode ‘Toes’ Donawa by gunmen just after 2 pm at Queen and Nelson Street. His family is questioning the gunmen's gain.

"They just causing people pain, that's all they doing," one relative said.

"They getting on like they don't have a family to," she continued.

Another triple murder in Arima

There are reports of another a triple murder in Arima…

According to reports, four persons were shot, with three of them succumbing to their injuries. 

The fourth shooting victim remains warded at hospital.

 

The victims have been identified by their aliases only, thus far—Dimitry, Nyron and Jordan.

Reports are that the shooting incident occurred in the early hours of this morning at Demerara Road in Arima.

CNC3 NEWS understands that the assailants, allegedly dressed as police officers, walked into the area at 1 am, and gunfire erupted.

Man killed over “a smoke”

A man identified only by his alias was found dead in Arouca on Tuesday morning.

The man’s body bore several gunshot wounds to the head.

According to a police report, at about 1.30 am, residents at Yorke Street, Arouca, heard voices quarrelling on the roadway over a cigarette, and then heard several gunshots.

Gabriella Du Barry’s ex charged with her murder

Thirty year old Vishal Birju has been charged with the murder of Gabriella Du Barry.

Birju, a taxi driver from Pepper Village, Fyzabad, was charged yesterday evening.

He is expected to appear before a Siparia magistrate at the Siparia Magistrates’ Court, this morning.

Last Thursday, Garbiella Du Barry was at her parents’ home when Birju stormed the premises, entered a bedroom and opened fire on her. The mother of one was shot three times and died at the scene.

He was subsequently detained by police at his home.

Police call for relatives of "Beatle"

The body that was found in Arouca on Monday is said to be a man identified only as "Beatle".

Relatives are being asked to come forward and claim his body, which is said to be at the Forensic Science Centre in St James.

According to a police report, at about 7 pm on Monday, residents of Lopinot Road in an area known as Soap Hill heard multiple gunshots ring out.

Upon checking, they found Beatle’s body lying near a drain just off the roadway.

Three shot at Getwell, hours after 3 found dead

Three people were shot and wounded on Tuesday morning, ironically, in the same area where three people were found hacked to death on Monday morning in Arima.

The shooting occurred ten minutes after a man was arrested on a domestic violence report. It is alleged he physically assaulted a relative.

The victims have been identified as 43-year-old David Richardson alias “Scratchie”, of LP300 Getwell Avenue Extension; 22-year-old Jerlene Richardson, also of LP300 Getwell Avenue Extension; and 40-year-old Kelly Andrews, of River Street, Sangre Grande.

Police escape injuries, death

Patrolling police officers in the Carapo area on Monday morning escaped injuries, possibly death when they were ambushed by gunmen.

According to a police report, at about 4 am the officers were on patrol along Race Course Road, Santa Rosa, when they intercepted a white Nissan Wagon in the vicinity of the Santa Rosa Race Course Car Park.

The officers alighted from the police vehicle and while approaching the wagon, one of the windows was rolled down and someone in the vehicle opened fire on the officers.

Three hurt in shooting in Arima

Confirmed reports of a shooting incident in the wee hours of this morning in Arima…

Details are still coming in but CNC3 NEWS understands that three persons have been shot and injured in the incident, which allegedly took place in the same area as Monday’s triple murder.

Reports are that at about 2:30 am, a man identified only by the nickname ‘Scratchy’, and two women, were all shot in Gatwell Avenue in Pinto Road, Arima

All three were rushed to hospital for treatment, however, there is no confirmation yet on the extent of their injuries.

Another murder in Port of Spain

The country has recorded yet another murder, on this the last day of the year…

CNC3 NEWS understands that Alvin Wallace also known as Wally, was shot and killed on Upper Duncan Street in Port of Spain.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 8:30 pm last night.

Investigations are ongoing.

Shooting on Park Street in Port of Spain

Police were on the scene of a shooting in the capital city this morning.

According to reports, a man was shot between Park and Piccadilly Streets this morning.

He has since been taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital.

When the Guardian Media team arrived, a number of on-lookers surrounded the scene and crime scene investigators were gathering evidence.

Pictures show more than 10 spent shells were discovered.

Investigations are ongoing.
